As a visitor at E-World, HONICO Systems introduced its solution in the automation of IS mass activities. Of particular interest was automated billing (EA38 – EA26 – EA29) as an integrated process.
E-World, Europe’s leading energy exhibition, was all about smart metering and other Internet of Things (IoT) devices: Providers can become more dynamic and flexible in the future, making their processes much more transparent and controllable.
IoT is still a very new, innovative topic, and the industry is currently in the process of bringing IoT to mid sizes businesses. This holds great potential for process automation that goes beyond normal control cycles. What used to be batch scheduling and was sometimes considered dusty is experiencing a renaissance over the mass of signals that offer new opportunities for optimization.
For instance, simple examples show how service technicians can respond directly to outages. At the macro level, however, this becomes even more interesting if failures announce themselves beforehand through key figures. Here you can use this preliminary run to improve the scheduling for all technicians or to arrange their optimal route planning and distribution. As a software provider, we also see great potential in linking the signals of the IoT devices with the large ERP processes in the background.
