Extended deadlines for RISE customers: Compatibility Packs (CP) usage rights until the end of 2030 – How to optimize your SAP license strategy
For whom is the event?
Customers, interested parties and partners who are confronted with the topic of SAP license management.
SAP customers have been informed that the usage rights for the compatibility scope will expire on December 31, 2025 due to a decision by the Executive Board. This means that both the usage rights and the support services for the so-called Compatibility Packs (CP) in SAP S/4HANA will end. These business suite functionalities will no longer be available from this date.
Customers who use CPs productively beyond this date are non-compliant. This also means that add-ons that access functions of the compatibility packs must be adapted accordingly, as they can neither be used nor supported from January 1, 2026.
However, there is an exception for RISE customers: CP functionality will remain available as part of the SAP cloud service for the S/4HANA versions up to SAP S/4HANA 2025, which are current, until the end of 2030.
