Success Story Sharp
Centralized End-to-End Automation and Monitoring at Sharp with BatchMan & File & DataManager
Sharp uses BatchMan for 15 years
Sharp is already a satisfied HONICO customer since 2005 and uses BatchMan on two SAP ERP systems for job automation and in the SAP BW environment for process chain control for 17 subsidiaries in Europe.
File & DataManager for new data interfaces
Sharp was looking for a solution for the implementation of automated, new data interfaces between the SAP ERP system and SFTP servers. The interfaces were needed both for Sharp‘s worldwide internal network and for the integration of external companies.
The new interfaces involved processes for order processing, delivery note creation, invoice creation and master data exchange. In doing so, the installation of an additional SFTP server was to be avoided. In addition, all processes were to be consolidated and traceable end-to-end in a central monitoring system.
Through the integration in BatchMan as an add-on, File & DataManager (FDM) was the right solution for interface automation.
Industry: Electrical Engineering
Use Case: End-to-End Data Interfaces
Advantages: Central Monitoring and quick installation
Benefits HONICO Solutions
- Cross Landscape Workload Automation directly from SAP
- Control of on-premise, cloud or hybrid landscapes
- Single Point of Control, Single Point of Monitoring
- Simple and quick installation, operational after one day
- Transfer of any files, formats and sizes
- Protocol and interface independent
The easy installation, the familiar interfaces, the integration into the BatchMan processes and the simple creation of interfaces convinced Sharp of the HONICO product already after a short test installation phase of one week.
With File & DataManager, Sharp could look forward to the go-live with confidence. The installation and user manual is written so simply and comprehensibly that no additional consulting support was required and Sharp had already set up the first interface itself after just one hour.
Results and Outlook
Using the FDM saved Sharp valuable time in implementing an alternative solution on the existing middleware. Through the integration in BatchMan, the planned goal of consolidating process automation and central monitoring was achieved easily.
For over 100 years, Sharp Electronics has been inventing unique products and solutions that benefit society and business. Its credo remains the same today as it did then: „sincerity and inventiveness“.
Sharp‘s history began with the invention of a constantly pointed mechanical pencil (Ever-Sharp Pencil) – hence the name „Sharp“ – and it has continued with innovative products. For example, Sharp marketed the first Japanese televisions and radios and the world‘s first LCD pocket calculators.
A century later, Sharp still offers innovation through award-winning products in various areas such as Document Solutions, Managed Services, Visual Solutions, Energy Solutions, POS Systems and IT Services.
