Success Story Infraserv Höchst
Infraserv Höchst Migration from SAP CPS by Redwood to BatchMan: 40% reduction in manual activities
Replacement of CPS (SAP Netweaver version)
Before migrating to HONICO BatchMan, Infraserv Höchst used the free version of SAP CPS by Redwood (Central Process Scheduling), which was part of SAP Netweaver. The functionality was very limited, and there was no further development. Support ran directly through SAP, but support ended at the end of 2020, so a replacement was necessary.
Important criteria for Infraserv’s purchase decision were price, integration with SAP, an on-premise solution, and easy system maintenance. In the first step, a stand-alone installation was carried out (SAP S/4HANA – Master) – (BW/4HANA – Client), followed by training by HONICO. In the next step, the productive transfer of data was started and then continued independently. Questions that arose were always answered promptly by HONICO support.

Industry: Operation of industrial sites, industrial services
Use Case: Migration from SAP CPS by Redwood
Advantages: Central monitoring and 40% less manual activities
The search for a suitable tool included the following criteria:
- A decentralized installation for better integration
- Alerting in case of aborts
- Optimized integration into existing landscape, specifically into the POB ticketing system
- Cost efficiency
Advantages over the predecessor
With the migration to BatchMan, Infraserv Höchst can now link data across systems. In addition, complex processes (job networks) can be displayed graphically and edited directly. Data is checked before it is scheduled in BatchMan. If a program, a variant, a user or a printer is missing, scheduling is not possible.
These functions are a significant improvement over the software Infraserv Höchst used previously. Infraserv Höchst also benefits from the extensive reporting functions that are a standard in BatchMan software, as well as the ability to make mass changes to data in all fields.
Process optimization during the project
In the course of the migration, the data transfer of the BW process chains was also optimized: A consolidation, simplification and optimization of the SAP daily closings as well as the SAP monthly closing took place. The automatic creation of POB tickets in case of job cancellations and the wish to have an “info” access to BatchMan for information purposes could be realized.
Labor savings of almost 40% with BatchMan
The project ran according to plan, both in terms of time and finances, and all set goals were achieved. Today’s workload is essentially limited to data maintenance (rescheduling, modification or deletion) and daily monitoring of runs, with automated tickets opened in the ticket system in the event of critical data errors. Compared to its predecessor product, Redwood CPS, Infraserv Höchst saves 30-40% in work time.
